Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive / Beijing Arrival at the capital city of China - Beijing, our local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel.
Day 2 Beijing (B, L ) Historic Beijing has long been China's political and cultural center. Today we will bring you to explore some of Beijing's greatest sights: first to the massive Tian'anmen Square, where Chairman Mao declared the founding of People's Republic of China before 3 million onlookers in 1949. Next, stroll through the magnificent Forbidden City - the grandest integral imperial palace with a history of around 600 years. In the afternoon, you will marvel at another Beijing's landmark - splendid Temple of Heaven built in 15th century.
Day 3 Beijing (B, L ) A full-day excursion will take you to the majestic Great Wall, which was built over 2,000 years ago and stretching about 4000 miles, you will have enough time to linger at this world wonder and contemplate how ancient Chinese people built the wall entirely by hand. Also visit the Sacred Road before returning to the city.
Day 4 Beijing / Xian (B, L ) After breakfast, you will visit the old narrow paths with lots of courtyard homes where common people are living - Hutongs by rickshaw. In the afternoon, fly to Xian, once the largest city in the world and the capital for 11 Chinese dynasties for a period of 1,180 years.
Day 5 Xian (B, L, D ) Start your Xian exploration with visits to the incredible 6,000 life-size Terracotta Warriors and Horses arranged in battle formation to protect the mausoleum of the first emperor in Chinese history - Emperor QinShihuang since 2,200 years ago. In the after, enjoy strolling along the Ancient City Walls considered as the largest and best-preserved ancient fortress in the world, and then the Bell Tower built in 1582 that stands in the center of the city.
Day 6 Xian / Chongqing/Embark Regal China Cruise Ship (B, L ) Continue your Xian exploration with visits to Shaanxi Provincial Museum showing you the splendid Chinese culture by exhibiting over 3,000 unearthed historical relics, and then to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda housing the sutras brought back from India by the famous monk Xuan-zang in Tang Dynasty before flying to Chongqing, where you will be escorted to pre-board Regal China to begin your Yangtze sailing.
Day 7 Yangtze Cruising (B, L, D ) Departs Chongqing at 08:00AM. Today, you will have a shore excursion to Fengdu Ghost City showing the Chinese ghost culture and is a place for punishing the devil and awarding the good.
Day 8 Yangtze Cruising (B, L, D ) The most beautiful day today. In the morning, your ship sails through narrow Qutang Gorge - the most dramatic gorge with peaks up to 1,240 meters high along the rolling river, and then continue entering Wu Gorge, the deepest and most mysteriously beautiful one of the Gorges. Disembark the ship and board the smaller vessels for the unique shore excursion to Shennong Stream, a small tributary of the Yangtze that is famous for its picturesque sceneries with crystal clear water, steep ridges and peaks, thick vegetation and wild flowers, flying birds, plank road built along a cliff and ancient hanging coffins. Afterwards, reboard the ship and enter Xiling Gorge - the longest one of the Three Gorges with many ancient temples along the way.
Day 9 Yangtze Cruising (B, L, D ) Today, you will tour the controversial massive Three Gorges Dam project, the largest hydroelectric dam in the world, after its completion in 2009, the water level will rise to 135 meters above sea level.
Day 10 Yangtze Cruising / Disembarkation/ Wuhan /Shanghai (B, L ) Disembark the ship in Wuhan at 11:30AM. Our tour guide will meet you and escort you to the airport for your flight to Shanghai, China's most cosmopolitan city.
Day 11 Shanghai (B, L, D ) Enjoy a thrilling day of sightseeing showing Shanghai's unique charm. Stroll the elaborate Yu Garden and the bustling Yuyuan Market, explore the stunning Shanghai Museum from one hall to another seeing China's richest collection of artifacts and Jade Buddha Temple housing an exquisite milk-white jade Buddha brought from Burma in the 19th century by a Chinese monk. Your thrilling day will be completed with tonight's wonderful Acrobatic Show.
Day 12 Shanghai (B, L ) One more exciting day in Shanghai by visiting the Oriental Pearl TV Tower - the highest TV Tower in Asia and the third highest one in the world with 468 meter height, and Children's palace which is a center for children to carry out their extracurricular activities. Also stroll the waterfront Bund and the crowded Nanjing Road.
Day 13 Shanghai / Exit (B ) Depart for your sweet home with new impression and unforgettable memories of this ancient land.
